🌟 Team Member Spotlight: Julie Lopez 🌟
Please join us in celebrating Julie, who was recently voted Employee of the Month and named our August Team Member Spotlight, a well-deserved recognition for going above and beyond in her role as a Med. Tech. Julie is truly a team player, always bringing positivity, dedication, and compassion to our community. Both staff and residents love having her around!
We’re also thrilled to announce that just two weeks after receiving this honor, Julie was promoted to Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) and is now part of our management team! 🎉
Born and raised in Oregon, Julie worked in retail for five years while doing in-home caregiving, an experience that inspired her to pursue a career in assisted living. She loves working with seniors, especially listening to their stories, life advice, and sense of humor.
Julie says her time at Gilman Grove has been a great experience, thanks to the warm welcome from residents and the constant support from coworkers. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her girlfriend and spending time at her family’s ranch with her niece and nephews.
We’re so lucky to have Julie as part of our team — and now, our leadership! 💛

Turn up the volume and enjoy this video of Les G. playing the harmonica, a sound often heard echoing through our halls. Les learned to play from his father and grandfather, and he's now passing the tradition down to his son.
Les is a WWII Marine Corps veteran who enlisted at just 17, inspired by letters from his older brother who was already serving. He completed bootcamp in San Diego, trained at Sonar School, and spent much of his time in the Marines stationed in the Caribbean.
Les is also a man of many talents: an award-winning bowler who won the 1975 Oregon State Bowling Competition 🏆 and a gifted artist whose paintings capture the beauty he’s seen through the years.
See his stunning paintings, a charming photo of Les and his wife from around 1989 dressed in 1910s-inspired fashion, and his championship bowling trophy.
We’re proud to honor Les, not only for his service, but for the joy, creativity, and history he brings to our community every day.
